About TSL and Buddhism

TSL is dedicated to strengthening individual and group practice and to bringing an understanding and realization of the benefits of Buddha Dharma to Colorado Springs. We do this by sponsoring the presence of highly regarded Buddhist practitioners and teachers.

Since 1993 The Colorado College Chaplain, Bruce Corriel, has graciously provided TSL an area for in Shove Chapel for teachings and meditation. We will continue to meet on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in Shove Chapel, 1010 N. Nevada Ave., for prayers and meditation. Our schedule will occasionally vary, so please contact the Center at (719) 447-9880 for the current date, time and place of our meetings. Visitors and newcomers are always welcome.

In Tibetan Buddhism, there are four main teaching lineages: Nyingma, Sakya, Kagyu, and Gelug. At TSL, we receive instructions that are primarily in the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism. These teachings may be characterized by its emphasis on ethics and comprehensive study of Buddhist thought. TSL invites the participation of everyone interested in finding out more about Buddhism as well as those devoted to practicing the Buddhist path.
